At Stone Medical & Wellness, we make medical travel simple, safe, and stress-free. From your first consultation to the final post-operative checkup, we handle every detail—so you can focus on your health, wellness, and peace of mind. Here’s how it works.
Step 1: Speak With a Specialist
Free Initial Consultation
Schedule a video call with one of our certified medical travel specialists to discuss the procedure you're considering. This call is commitment-free and includes a complimentary estimate based on your needs. It’s also your chance to ask questions and get to know us.
Step 2: Meet the Surgeon
Virtual Consultation With Your Doctor
After your estimate, and depending on the procedure, we may request photos or medical history to share with the surgeon. Once reviewed, we’ll schedule your video consultation. You’ll speak directly with the doctor, ask any medical questions, and—if approved—receive a complete breakdown of available travel packages and accommodation options.
Step 3: Confirm & Sign
Secure Your Booking
Once you approve the estimate and package, we’ll send over a simple agreement. After signing and submitting your deposit (we accept payments from the U.S. and Colombia), we’ll reserve your procedure dates, accommodations, and coordinate everything with the clinic and surgeon.
Step 4: Welcome Package Sent
Everything You Need, Delivered to You
You’ll receive a welcome packet by mail with all the essential information: your full itinerary, emergency contacts, and how to stay in touch. You’ll also get access to our mobile app, which lets you communicate with your care team, drivers, and support staff throughout your trip.
Step 5: Arrival & Pre-Op Visit
Personal Greeting at the Airport
When you land at José María Córdova International Airport (MDE), connect to Wi-Fi and open the app. You’ll see real-time tracking of your driver and vehicle, just like a ride-share service. You’ll be met by our local staff and taken to your accommodations. The following day includes your pre-operative visit and in-person consultation with your surgeon.
Step 6: Surgery Day
Professional Care From Start to Finish
On the day of your procedure, everything will be prepared for a smooth experience. After surgery, and with your doctor’s approval, you’ll return to your accommodations. A private nurse will be by your side during the first week of recovery, with full instructions from the medical team. Through the app, your loved ones can stay updated in real time.
Step 7: Recovery & Relaxation
Heal Comfortably—Enjoy if You’d Like
Depending on your condition and preferences, we can arrange light tours, cultural experiences, or spa treatments during your recovery. You can explore, relax, or simply rest—our team will ensure you’re comfortable every step of the way.
Step 8: Post-Op & Return Home
Final Check & Continued Support
Before departure, your surgeon will conduct a final post-op evaluation and provide you with all medical records and post-care instructions. A staff member will escort you back to the airport. Even after your trip, our team remains available via the app to support your continued recovery.
